LIMB RECONSTURCTION

Limb lengthening and reconstruction is a procedure to lengthen the bones of arms and legs in children and adults. The bone is surgically cut and there are different devices available to create gap in the bone, new bone grows to fill the gap. Reconstruction techniques are used in the treatment of limb lengthening and/or malformation correction.

Physical and occupational therapy are an important part of the treatment after a brachial plexus injury. Many children continue to have some weakness and pain but with proper surgery and physiotherapy the child will be able to regain the function of the affected extremity.
